PROJECT SIERRA LEONE

For several decades, Sierra Leone has been one of the 10 least developed countries in the world. Additionally, the recent history of the country has been marked by a cruel rebel war. In the fight for blood diamonds, 75,000 people lost their lives, partly at the hands of child soldiers. Another 20,000 were mutilated, and the number of refugees reached 2.6 million.
The country had just 12 years to recover from the civil war before it was hit by another disaster. From 2014 to 2016, the Ebola epidemic caused almost 4,000 deaths and made 12,000 children orphans. One may wonder why this small West African country is so badly hit again and again, a question that can hardly be answered. However, what we can and want to do is help alleviate the need. We want to provide hope and help to the particularly poor and disadvantaged people.
